Unfortunately, like every other business, we have to navigate the pressures of inflation and rising prices which has not only impacted ourselves but many of our service suppliers. Unfortunately, everyone is experiencing the increase in the general cost of living during the current economic climate that we face. All of these factors will now have to be reflected in a small increase to both season tickets and match-day admission prices next season, which we hope will still make supporting the Martyrs an affordable, rewarding and enjoyable option for the majority of our fans. All income generated from season tickets is utilised for Paul’s playing budget providing the best possible opportunity of making the continuous improvement that has been achieved over the last three seasons and especially as we embark on a new journey in the National League at Step 2. NEWS Merthyr Town FC < Back News (News-Item) New signing – Welcome Morgan Lewis 30 May 2025 Merthyr Town Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of Morgan Lewis from National League South side Weston Super Mare, subject to International Clearance and National League approval. Morgan, a left sided Welsh ball-playing defender is from Treorchy and spent 12 years at Cardiff City but after departing in the Summer of 2023, he promptly signed for Southern League Division One South side Mousehole, going on to make 39 appearances for them in the 2023/24 season and helping them to reach the Play-Offs. After impressing many clubs across the Southwest, Morgan then joined National League South side Weston Super Mare in July 2024 and went on to make 12 appearances for the Seagulls scoring 1 goal in their 2024/25 season. The defender also enjoyed loan spells during the 2024/25 campaign with Taunton Town and Mousehole, before returning to Weston Super Mare for the end of the season. Speaking on securing the signing of Morgan for the National League North campaign ahead, Paul Michael said, “we have tracked Morgan for a while and monitored the situation as he went down to Cornwall, then to Weston last season and out on loan to Taunton. Morgan’s range of passing and final ball is one of his biggest assets, he has a long throw, a taste of Step 2 football and he’s also had experience at Centre Back in youth football which means he’s got a nice balance of attacking and defensive traits against all types of play we will face next season. He fits the profile of player that we generally look to bring in as a young ambitious player keen to develop and progress. I’m looking forward to integrating him into the squad over pre-season and the supporters seeing what he’ll bring to Merthyr Town.” (Photo Credit: SameOldSmiths Photography) Previous Next

- Merthyr Town v Hendon
< Back Merthyr Town v Hendon 13 April 2024 Next Previous Kick Off: 15:00 1-1 Result: Merthyr Town FC, Penydarren Park, Merthyr Tydfil, CF47 8RF Match Report: This may not have been the result that the supporters coveted, but at the end of the season it may be a decisive point gain. It did help to retain our play-off place on a superior goal difference, but for how long? This was the tenth meeting between the two clubs stretching back to the 1973/74 and this was only the second time that we had avoided defeat. Hendon are technically our nemesis, so a point gained was in effect a good outcome. The Martyrs had to thank Jaimie Cogman for making two point blank saves with his body before Dan Mazsuzaka scored from very close range in the 25th minute, when the ball delivered into the penalty area from a corner dropped conveniently at his feet. The sliding doors moment in the game came just six minutes later when Frazer Thomas was fouled as he drove towards the by-line. It was on-loan Norwich City goalkeeper Dylan Berry who saved the resulting penalty kick diving low to his right to deny Ricardo Rees, which at that moment subdued the atmosphere. Hendon had been quite cynical in their approach to the game which had worked to their favour in the opening forty five minutes. Both Frazer Thomas, who broke through and saw his shot narrowly miss the outside of the post, and Lewys Twamley whose close range effort was stopped by Berry’s long legs, prior to some controversy surrounded the eventual equalising goal that was forced home from close range by Ricardo Rees with ten minutes of normal time remaining. The referee appeared to delay awarding the goal momentarily until he blew his whistle to indicate that the ball had in fact crossed the line. The game ended in a nervous draw as both side continued to show their attacking intent in the final stages. Previous Next
