Merthyr Town Football Club are delighted to announce the re-signing of striker Gethyn Hill from Taunton

In the summer of 2016 following his departure from Cardiff the year before, he joined Cinderford Town where his form attracted interest, leading to him joining National League South Weston-super-Mare in December of that year.

At the start of the 2017-18 campaign, he spent a month on loan at Hereford before returning to Weston and going on to become the Seagulls’ top scorer for the season with 19 goals.

After a further season in Somerset, he then joined The Martyrs for the 2019-20 season, making 21 appearances in total for the Club. After leaving Merthyr in 2020, Hill signed a new deal with Taunton Town where he won the Southern League Premier South in his second season last year.

Commenting on his latest addition, Manager Paul Michael said: “Obviously I’m delighted to be able to bring Gethyn back to the club, he won this division last season and I think it does show that our objectives are different here this season. Gethyn also feels he has a little unfinished business here as a couple of injuries hampered his last spell.

"He’s a little different to the other forwards we have with a physical presence in both boxes, he’ll compliment the others well in my opinion. I’m very excited about this one and how it’s all coming together.”
