New signing – Welcome Morgan Lewis
30 May 2025

Merthyr Town Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of Morgan Lewis from National League South side Weston Super Mare, subject to International Clearance and National League approval.
Morgan, a left sided Welsh ball-playing defender is from Treorchy and spent 12 years at Cardiff City but after departing in the Summer of 2023, he promptly signed for Southern League Division One South side Mousehole, going on to make 39 appearances for them in the 2023/24 season and helping them to reach the Play-Offs.
After impressing many clubs across the Southwest, Morgan then joined National League South side Weston Super Mare in July 2024 and went on to make 12 appearances for the Seagulls scoring 1 goal in their 2024/25 season. The defender also enjoyed loan spells during the 2024/25 campaign with Taunton Town and Mousehole, before returning to Weston Super Mare for the end of the season.
Speaking on securing the signing of Morgan for the National League North campaign ahead, Paul Michael said, “we have tracked Morgan for a while and monitored the situation as he went down to Cornwall, then to Weston last season and out on loan to Taunton. Morgan’s range of passing and final ball is one of his biggest assets, he has a long throw, a taste of Step 2 football and he’s also had experience at Centre Back in youth football which means he’s got a nice balance of attacking and defensive traits against all types of play we will face next season.
He fits the profile of player that we generally look to bring in as a young ambitious player keen to develop and progress. I’m looking forward to integrating him into the squad over pre-season and the supporters seeing what he’ll bring to Merthyr Town.”
