BYO Films Extend Partnership with Merthyr Town FC
1 June 2023
Merthyr Town Football Club is delighted to announce that BYO Films have extended their partnership with the club ahead of the 2023/24 season.
Line of Duty’s Vicky McClure and her fiancé, Filmmaker, Times columnist and TalkSPORT presenter Jonny Owen has once again agreed to sponsor the club's back of shirts and shorts for the new season.
The couples Production Company ‘BYO Films’ will have pride of place on the Martyrs home, away and third kit for the 2023/24 season.
Most recently, the company have produced ‘Without Sin’ for ITV and Vicky McClure with ‘My Grandad's War’ which will air on Monday, June 5 at 9pm on ITV1.
The couple have strong ties to the Welsh club with Jonny having grown up in the Valleys town.
Vicky is one of most loved actors in the country and Jonny is a hugely respected figure in the game. He is a Merthyr boy who has never forgotten his roots. He grew up as a fan with a strong family connection to the club and he’s also helped us with several new sponsors for this coming season and we are hugely grateful to him for that. His Fiancée Vicky McClure has been to Penydarren Park and we can’t wait to welcome them both when they come and see us again next season.
Speaking to BBC Radio Wales earlier this week, Vicky McClure said: “Jonny and Merthyr are just a match made in heaven. When the opportunity came about Sponsoring the kit, I was just like absolutely.
"I love Merthyr and it holds a very special place in my heart, I’ve always had a great welcome whenever I’ve come to the club.”
