Alex John, now going into his third season with The Martyrs, has become an ever-present in the Martyrs midfield, despite only being 21 years old.
The midfielder, who can also operate in defence, came through the ranks at Yeovil Town Football Club and was apart of their latter 2018/19 Sky Bet league Two campaign, after impressing interim manager Neale Marmon. After signing a new one-year-deal at Huish Park at the end of that season, John was the subject of Premier League interest according to reports, with Hull City winning the race to sign the highly-rated talisman on loan. Most recently, the energetic playmaker has enjoyed a good spell at the KCOM Stadium, developing himself with the U23's squad whilst training with the first team on the odd occasion. John has also got some valuable experience in the Southern League Premier South after a short loan spell at Gosport Borough, before his departure to Hull City in January 2021.
