To all owners and supporters of MTFC,
As you will have seen and head through various media outlets connected with the Club in the last
week or so, there has been some activity with first team personnel. Unfortunately, Welsh League
Club’s came in for Ashley Evans, Ryan Prosser and Kyle Patten, which has resulted in those players
leaving. The Club do not like seeing players go, however it was a player choice and we wish them the
very best of luck for the future. You will be aware that the Club sent a statement out before Christmas that the Club operate on a ‘Progress through stability’ mantra which means the playing budget had to be set at an affordable level, and sadly cannot compete with the Welsh Premier League – Club’s from which have taken players from us.
The budget remains the same and all monies from the ‘Boost the Budget’ initiative continue to be
given to Gavin on a weekly basis, however some of the top-ups that were being received from third
parties seem to be drying up. The Board will ensure that top-ups do not happen in the future
because it has caused major headaches for the Board and Gavin.
Despite the issues that continue to arise, we firmly believe that the team are producing good
football, however it does mean that Gavin does not have fringe players at his disposal should injuries
arise. At some point and as part of the Club’s agreement with Cardiff City FC Academy, Gavin will
have some development players at his disposal, which will go a long way in helping keep consistency
on the field. Furthermore, Gavin is currently looking for replacement players but will only replace if
they can bring something to the team.
The Club continues to operate stable financially and we ask that everyone gets behind the club and
the team, who are already proving that when we’re all together we can achieve great success.
