A host of former Merthyr Town players from the last twenty years will be returning to Penydarren Park on Saturday afternoon in honour of the memory of our popular former Club Secretary and Board member, Anthony Hughes.

The day has been organised by Steve Williams and Kerry Morgan, who have received what can only be described as an incredible response from a large number of ex-players such is the respect that everyone had for Anthony.

In addition to Steve and Kerry, the stella list includes Gary Shephard, Danny Carter and Dean Clarke, who all played for and also managed the Club. Current players Matthew Harris (Club Captain), Lee Lucas and Jay Williams, goalscoring legends extraordinary Ian Traylor, Ryan Prosser, Craig Steins and Marcus Griffiths.

Custodians with safe hands Ashley Morris and Andrew Delve, no nonsense defenders Andrew Thomas, Gary Colbourne, Paul Keddle, Gareth Wharton, Jamie Rewbury, Adrian Needs, Jonathan Newall and Jack Howe.

The midfield dynamos of Ashley Evans, Grant Thomas, Ryan Dorrian, Sam O’Sullivan and Richard Ingram.

From the land of the giants - Lewis Sommers and Mikey Jones, plus local boy Richard French.

A dazzling line up and there will be numerous opportunities for our fans to show their appreciation for the service that the players provided to the Club.

This will be supporting a really worthwhile cause and without doubt a fantastic day!
