Manager | Jonathan Greening
Jonathan Greening was appointed the manager of Scarborough Athletic in May 2021 when the Boro were a Northern Premier League side. Prior to management, Greening had a successful playing career, which saw the midfielder feature for high-reputation clubs such as Manchester United, Fulham and Nottingham Forest. Greening made over 450 senior appearances in which he scored 22 times from the middle of the park. Greening also achieved a major honour, winning the UEFA Champions League with Manchester United, where he was an unused substitute in the final of the 1998-99 season. Greening began his coaching career by coaching the academy team of his former club, York, before also working alongside Richard Cresswell at the i2i International Soccer Academy based in York. His first managerial appointment was as the manager of Scarborough in 2021, when the side were playing their football in the Northern Premier League Division. Greening led the club to promotion during his first season while also winning the North Riding Senior Cup. His impressive start to life at Boro continued as he guided Scarborough to finishing in third place in the 2022 season, and in December 2022, Greening earned himself a three-year contract extension, committing him to stay at the club until the end of the 2025/26 season.
