Match Day Guide - Hendon

We welcome Hendon to Penydarren Park on Saturday afternoon in the Pitching IN Southern League Premier (3pm Kick Off).


The Martyrs will be looking to strengthen their grip on that final play-off place against a tough Hendon team, who have once again proved fierce competition this season. After back-to-back wins with a 3-0 home victory over Hungerford, and a 3-1 away victory over Poole Town, there is no doubt the Martyrs will be full of confidence. All the information below, including admission prices, keeps you up to date with all of the events happening around the ground on Saturday afternoon.


Arriving at Penydarren Park

The gates at PP will be open from 12:30 – two hours and a half hours before kick-off against Hendon. Supporters are encouraged to arrive in good time, to enter the ground as easily as possible, and arrive ahead of kick-off at 3pm.

Cashand Cardpayments are now being accepted on the Turnstiles at the entrance to the Lyn Jones Grandstand.

Admission Prices

  • Adults - £12

  • Concessions - £9

  • Discounted Price - £9 (Included for season ticket holders of Cardiff City, Swansea City, Newport County & Wrexham)

  • Children (U16) - £2

Calling all Welsh EFL Club fans don’t forget that you get the reduced entry of £9 into any Martyrs home league games, on production of a valid 2023/24 Season Ticket for Cardiff City, Swansea City, Newport or Wrexham.

There are no pre-sale tickets for the game with all payments ONLY on the gate. However, card payment is now accepted on all of the Lyn Jones Grandstand Turnstiles, as well as cash payments.


Car Parking

Limited parking at the ground will be available and the car park will probably be closed early, so please respect the local residents and find a convenient parking space in the town centre car park (multi-story) or College car park both just a few minutes’ walk from the ground. Bar & Food Facilities

Before kick-off tomorrow, you can purchase a range of drinks from both of the club’s bar. Both Romans Bar and Webley's will be open from 12:30pm. There will be Premier League Football from 12:30 with Newcastle United v Tottenham Hotspur Live on the Big Screen in Romans, and all the TV’s in Webley’s Bar.

Holveys Café will be open from 2pm serving hot food, including the famous cob and chips. We will also have MogsyBelle Ice Cream joining us for the game, and their van will be positioned in the top end of the ground – servings Ice Cream and other sweet treats!


Club Shop

Pay a visit to the Merthyr Town Club Shop and purchase our replica kits, leisurewear, and accessories. The store will be opening its doors from 2pm, giving Martyr's fans plenty of time to visit before entering PP!

There is an End of Season Sale on all our Replica Shirts in our Club Shop, with £10 off all shirts – so be sure to grab an end of season bargain!


50/50 Tickets & Matchday Programme

Our usual 50/50 tickets will be available to purchase around the ground on Saturday at just £1. The draw will be made at half-time, with the winner being announced by our match-day announcer.

Pick up a copy of our match-day programme at just £2. The programmes will be on sale around the ground prior to kick-off.


End of Season Player Shirt Raffle

Supporters will be able to purchase raffle tickets from various sellers around the ground where two lucky winners will win either Tom Handley’s or Nick Rhodes’ match worn shirts from this season, signed by the whole squad. Tickets are £2 each, and the winner will be drawn at Half Time of our game against Harrow Borough on Saturday 27thApril 2024.


Hendon – One To Watch

Hendon’s main threat is Niko Muir, the experienced centre forward, formerly of Hartlepool United and Woking, who has bagged 18 goals this season and will be one to keep an eye on come Saturday afternoon.

The Martyrs are currently sitting 5thin the League table, with today’s opponents in 10th place.The Martyrs will be hoping to continue their winning form going into Tuesday nights game away to Winchester City!


Previous Result

Earlier this season, The Martyrs travelled to Hendon in early November, but it was the home team who claimed all three points after a first half goal from defender, Ethan Light, which was enough to secure a 1-0 win.


Mascots

We welcome the children from Georgetown BGC U9s and U12s who are our match-day mascots and flag bearers for Saturdays game and will be leading the Martyrs out at Penydarren Park ahead of the game. We hope everyone has a great day at the club!
