Spread over two nights the Anthony Bunko production depicting the night Merthyr Tydfil FC beat Italian side Atalanta in the European Cup Winners Cup back in 1987, was hilarious and full of Valleys humour.

There were many in the audience at The Collisium Theatre in Aberdare who would have been at Penydarren Park the night that the game was played and this was reflected in the auditorium that was packed to the rafters over both nights to celebrate the stage production of game.

So Kevin Rogers...........the new star of stage and screen also appearing in The Martyrs of 87!! At the end of the production on the opening night Kevin was joined on stage by the players who were part of the team that slayed the Italian side. 

Anthony said after the first nights performance 'I don’t really get emotional during our plays.....but the finale last night when all the ex-players walked on to the stage to a standing ovation did bring a little tear to my eye.....thanks everyone for coming and making it such a special night for me, Neil and the cast
