Jack Evans Returns

Merthyr Town Football Club are delighted to announce that Jack Evans has agreed terms with the club ahead of the 2025/26 Enterprise National League North campaign.

Jack who is just one appearance off reaching 100 Martyrs appearances, was a key component of the Martyrs title-winning midfield in the 2024/25 season, as well as grabbing a couple of goals, including a great strike away at Taunton Town.

The midfielder, who came through the Swansea City Academy, and then making his first-team debut with the Swans in 2019, has also enjoyed spells with Newport County, Mansfield and a stint in the Cypriot Premier League with Pafos FC.

Speaking on Jack agreeing terms for the campaign ahead, Paul Michael said, “Jack is an outstanding footballer and an absolute winner. Everyone can see how his passing ability and bravery to get on the ball allows us to break through pressure, but what is also key to us is the ridiculous number of defensive interventions he makes, the tackles, interceptions and pressure he gets on the ball for us is invaluable.

Last season he showed his commitment to his teammates and the club with the ridiculous number of miles he did, often commuting from his work in Leeds straight to games! This commitment and ability don’t come around often at our level, so getting Jack back is huge for everyone at the club.”

Jack’s registration has been approved and will be available for this weekends League opener against Southport.
