Merthyr Town enter the FA Cup at this phase due to the Martyrs competing at step 2 and they will be looking to continue their impressive form following 2 successive wins against Macclesfield and Worksop Town which saw Paul Michael's side leapfrog themselves into 5th place. However, opponents Torpoint who compete in the Western Premier Division (Step 5), have progressed to this round of the competition after victories against Saltash United, Sidmouth Town and most recently Wootton Bassett Town to give themselves an away tie against a side 3 leagues above.

His time at Liskeard ended short and he rejoined to help guide Torpoint to survival in the 2024/2025 season alongside Ryan Fice.

Karl Curtis was appointed joint manager of Torpoint prior to this season's campaign following the departure of Ryan Fice. Karl was no stranger to Torpoint as he previously held the management position at the Football Club. His latest role before rejoining the 'point' was at Plymouth Parkway in the Southern League Premier Division.

The sides most impressive victory of their league campaign so far came away from home where they conquered ST Austell 6-1 in a truly astonishing performance from the 'Point'. The step 5 side have been impressive in their FA Cup run so far as they demolished Saltash United 6-1, Sidmouth Town 4-2 and defeated Royal Wootton Bassettt Town 3-1.
