Andrew Rowley named new Women's Head Coach

Merthyr Town Football Club is pleased to announce Andrew Rowley as the club’s new Women’s Head Coach.

Rowley joins the club from Genero Adran Premier side Abergavenny Town where he spent the second half of the 2022/23 season.

Across a successful coaching career, Rowley has worked at several academy and development centres including Cambrian & Clydach Academy and Swansea City. He has also coached both men’s and women’s senior football bringing a wealth of experience into his new role.

After putting pen-to-paper, Rowley said: “I’m really excited about the challenge. As soon as I came to the club on my visit, I fell in love with the place. The facilities that we have here are Tier 1 standard - something that we’re hoping to achieve in the future.

“The first challenge for me is to get a competitive squad on the field. It’s going to be a total rebuild to start. With the size of the club, my goal is to improve the players that we have here while looking to add more exciting players to strive forward towards our goal. It’s going to be an extremely big challenge to start with this season but one I’m very much looking forward too.”
