Merthyr Town Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of defender Jac Thomas on loan from Cardiff City until the end of the 2025/26 season.

Jac, 19, joined Cardiff City FC's Academy at the age of seven during the Pre-Academy age-groups.

The Rhondda-born youngster is a talented left-back who shows his capabilities in both defence and attack, with great crossing ability. Jac’s pace and ability with both feet will be sure to get supporters excited at Penydarren Park. The full-back impressed at U18s and U21s level in recent seasons, which led to him signing his first professional contract with the Bluebirds in July 2025.

Jac has been capped at Wales U15, U17, U18 and U19’s level, including 7 appearances for Wales U19s in the last two years, as well as formerly being part of the Wales squad that featured in the Euro U17 tournament in 2024.

Jac will be available for selection ahead of this weekends fixture in the Enteprise National League North away at South Shields.
