We welcome Hanwell Town to Penydarren Park on Saturday afternoon in the Pitching IN Southern League Premier South (3pm Kick Off).


The Martyrs will be looking to continue from their last win at home against then league leaders, Salisbury. All the information below, including admission prices, keeps you up to date withh all of the events taking place around the ground on Saturday afternoon.


Arriving at Penydarren Park

The gates at PP will be open from 12:30pm – two and a half hours before kick-off against Hanwell Town. Supporters are encouraged to arrive in good time, to enter the ground as early as possible, and arrive ahead of kick-off at 3pm.

Admission Prices

  • Adults - £12

  • Concessions - £9

  • Discounted Price - £9 (Included for season ticket holders of Cardiff City, Swansea City, Newport County and Wrexham)

  • Children (U16) - £2

There are no pre-sale tickets for the game with all payments ONLY on the gate. However,

card payment is now accepted on both Lyn Jones Grandstand Turnstiles, as well as cash payments.


Car Parking

Limited parking at the ground will be available and the car park will probably be closed early, so please respect the local residents and find a convenient parking space in the town centre car park or College car park both just a few minutes’ walk from the ground.


Bar & Food Facilities

Before kick-off tomorrow, you can purchase a range of drinks from both of the club’s bar. Both Romans Bar and Webley’s will be open from 12.30pm. Romans Bar will then be closed after Half-time due to a private function in the evening.

Holveys Café will be open from 2pm serving hot food, including the famous cob and chips.


Club Shop

Pay a visit to the Merthyr Town Club Shop and purchase our replica kits, leisurewear, and accessories ahead of Christmas. The store will be opening its doors from 2pm, giving

Martyr’s fans plenty of time to visit before entering PP!


Special Guests

We are delighted to be joined by Welsh Icon, Dafydd Iwan, for Saturdays game as we welcome him as our Match Guest. Dafydd will be promoting his brand new book, “Still Singing : YMA O HYD” and this will be onsale in Romans Bar from 1pm. He will then make a pre-match presentation, before giving us a special one-off performance, post-match, of some of the most iconic welsh songs!


50/50 Tickets & Matchday Programme

Our usual 50/50 tickets will be available to purchase around the ground on Saturday at just £1. The draw will be made at half-time, with the winner being announced by our matchday announcer.

Pick up a copy of our matchday programme on Saturday at just £2. The programmes will be on sale around the ground prior to kick-off.


Hanwell Town – One To Watch

The Geordies striker, Sam Evans has been on fine form this season, currently sitting joint third in the league top scorer charts alongside our very own Ricardo Rees with 14 goals. The 21-year-old joined the London club in the summer of 2023 after impressing for Bedfont Sports in the 2022/23 season. The frontman came through the academy system at National League side, Woking.

The Martyrs are currently sitting in 4th place in the League table, seven points off top spot. Whereas, the Geordies are just above the relegation zone in 18th place, two points above the drop line.


Previous Result

The last match between the two sides finished in a 4-1 away victory for the Martyrs back in August at the Powerday Stadium, thanks to a brace from Ricardo Rees and efforts from Olly Mehew and Noah Smerdon, before a late consolation goal from the home team thanks to Calum Duffy.
