David Miles Stand – Temporary Partial Closure
25 August 2026

Unfortunately a section of the David Miles Stand at Penydarren Park will be closed during matchdays or the foreseeable future following the identification of safety issues with the safety fencing at the front of the specific section of the stand.
The club can confirm that, following the celebrations after the Martyrs’ equalising goal in the fixture against AFC Telford United, the fencing at the front of the stand became loose and has since detached from the concrete platforms to which it was secured. As a result, around one third of the stand will be unavailable to supporters until essential improvement works have been completed to ensure the stand is safe for use on matchdays. This decision has been taken as a precautionary measure to protect fans, staff, players, volunteers, and visitors attending matches at Penydarren Park.
For the affected area to reopen, repairs will need to be carried out to address the safety concerns raised. In addition, barriers must be fitted along the standing sections of the stand to improve crowd safety and ensure the area meets the required standard before supporters are allowed to return.
While the closure will reduce the capacity of the David Miles Stand, the remainder of the ground will continue to operate as normal. Supporters are asked to follow any signage, stewarding instructions and matchday guidance issued by the club while the restriction is in place.
As a club we appreciate the patience and understanding of supporters while the necessary work is assessed and arranged, and we hope our vocal supporters can still help create a great atmosphere at Penydarren Park in other areas of the ground during this time. The club will provide further updates when there is a clearer timescale and cost for the repairs and the installation of the barriers.
Although no reopening date has yet been set, the club has stressed that safety must come first. The affected part of the David Miles Stand will only be brought back into use once the required work has been completed and the area is considered safe for spectators.
