Result:

Didcot Town v Merthyr Town

Didcot OX11 7GA, UK

Match Report:

Paul Michael shuffled the pack for this visit to newly promoted Didcot Town, mainly forced by injuries to key players. Will Fuller made his first appearance of the season, with Nick Rhodes also making the starting eleven for the first time this season. Liam Angel and Aneurin Livermore were included on the substitutes bench, with Joe Keepin and Tom Stokes both starting.

The enforced changes were probably a contributory factor to a sketchy first half performance from the visitors, with their plans disrupted. The travelling supporters were stunned when Pat Osbourne turned Noah Smerdon one way then another to strike a fierce effort from the corner of the penalty area into the far corner, giving Fuller no chance which gave the home side a surprise lead in added time of the first half.

The visitors improved considerably in the second half with the introduction of Livermore and Hillman. Soon after when Tom Hadley struck the post, Alex John reacted the quickest to score emphatically from the rebound to equalise in the 65th minute. It took just seven minutes before Livermore found fellow substitute Tom Hillman to hit a great winner for the Martyrs.

So a fourth away win and seven in total, saw the Martyrs move to within a point of both Gosport and Chesham.
