The club are delighted to announce that Kyle Copp and Eliot Richards have agreed to sign for Merthyr Town FC.
Eliot has been on loan at the club from Weston-Super-Mare, with his loan deal expiring 31 December. Eliot will not be returning to Weston, and has agreed to re-sign for the club. Eliot made his debut for the club against Biggleswade in October, and has made 15 appearances scoring 2 goals against Cinderford and St Neots Town. International clearance will be needed after the expiration of his loan for him to be able to play against Redditch on Monday.
20 year old Kyle was with Swansea City until the summer of 2016, before joining Yeovil Town. Kyle is a young midfielder, represented Wales at U17 level, and made his debut for Yeovil in their EFL Trophy match in August. International clearance will also be needed for Kyle to be available to make his debut against Redditch on Monday.
Manager Gavin Williams said “I’m delighted Eliot has agreed to commit himself to us beyond his loan deal, and also that Kyle has agreed to join us from Yeovil. I was keen to strengthen the squad after a few departures, and these players have the quality to take us forward.”
As mentioned above international clearance has been requested for both players to be available to play on Monday, but we are unable to give a firm timescale for how long it will take. We would like to thank both Weston and Yeovil for their assistance in our efforts to get clearance in time for Monday.
