NEWS Merthyr Town FC < Back News (News-Item) Match Day Guide - AFC Totton 13 January 2025 We welcome AFC Totton to Penydarren Park on Tuesday Evening for a top of the league tussle in the Pitching IN Southern League Premier fixture (7:45pm Kick Off). The Martyrs will be aiming to continue the impressive run that currently sees them 9 points clear at the top of the Southern League, and unbeaten in 19 matches but will have to overcome our toughest task yet in a AFC Totton side, who currently sit in 2nd place. Arriving at Penydarren Park The gates at PP will be open from 18:00. Supporters are encouraged to arrive well in advance of the game, to enter the ground as easily as possible, and arrive ahead of kick-off at 7:45pm, as we expect queues at the turnstiles with another great crowd at Penydarren Park! Car Parking There will only be car parking in Penydarren Park for those supporters with reserved parking spaces for the 2024/25 season, as well as a limited number of disabled parking spaces. Car parking is available in the Castle Street Multi-Story Car Park or College Car Park just a short 5–10 minute walk from the ground. We ask any visitors to the ground to please park appropriately in the local area around Penydarren Park and to respect the neighbouring residents. Bar & Food Facilities Before kick-off tomorrow, you can purchase a range of drinks from the club’s bars. Webley's and Roman’s Bar will be open from 5:45pm. A key player for Tiverton Town this afternoon will be experienced midfielder, Asa Hall, who joined Tivvy from Torquay United during the summer. The 37 year old has well over 250 Football League appearances under his belt, as well as a further 174 appearance for Torquay, after enjoying time in the EFL with Luton Town, Oxfird United and Cheltenham Town. Previous Result Last season, the Martyrs left it late but won the game at Penydarren Park against Tivvy in the 95th minute thanks to a Ricardo Rees winner, after Noah Smerdon had earlier cancelled out Tivertons leader from Jack Rice. NEWS Merthyr Town FC < Back News (News-Title) First Team Performance Analyst Intern 2 May 2025 Merthyr Town Football Club is seeking enthusiastic and proactive candidates to join the first-team setup in a performance analysis role ahead of the 2025/26 season. The role will allow candidates to work alongside first team coaches and staff, as well as being part of the further analysis team at the club. This is an unpaid internship that allows students to be part of the first-team setup at a non-league football club within the English system and will include regular updates and tasks provided by the first team coaches and delivering data to the first team squad. The role will require the candidate to attend all first team fixtures, as part of the first team staff, as well as attending one training session per week (where applicable) to deliver and report data. Extra work and tasks can be available on request. Responsibilities for the role will include: - Working alongside the current analysis team to help identify and process the requested analysis tasks. - Ensure excellent communication exists between yourself and the first team manager and staff. - Be expected to attend the large majority of first team fixtures, both home and away. - Complete reports on matches and players in line with the first team staff requests, and then forward/present reports to first team players and staff. - Working with the clubs VEO camera and footage to compile match/player information. - Interpret match data from Wyscout to inform on player performance. - Analyse and create opposition reports for the management staff homing in on tactical set ups and set piece strategies. - Use the Catapult One Sports Tracker to report on player fitness and running data. Person Specification: - Be studying an undergraduate or post-graduate degree in Sports Coaching/Analysis/Studies or similar. - Based within the South Wales area, so able to attend home games, training sessions, and pick-up points for Away bus travel - (Successful applicant will travel with first team to away fixtures on Club Team Bus) - Reliable and dedicated with a flexible working approach. - Passionate about football and the job role. - Be able to commit to the full 2025/26 season. - Candidate will be provided with Club Teamwear/Uniform to be worn at all matches and training sessions. Should the successful candidate require documentation to be completed for their studies/university course work, this will be completed by the club secretary upon request.
