Martyrs manager Gavin Williams praised his sides performance after they secured their place in qualifying Round 2 of the Emirates FA Cup after a 1-0 win over Plymouth Parkway.
Merthyr were level going into the interval after they failed to find the cutting edge in the final third however, a 75th minute strike from Ian Traylor that fired past the advancing Moore secured another big victory for Gavin Williams’ side.
He said: "It was a tough game and full credit to them because they pushed us all the way. I know they’re two leagues below us but they gave a great account of themselves. Again, it was a really tough game but I’m delighted to come away with win and be in the next round of the FA Cup”.
“Obviously Traylor does what he does which is score goals on a regular basis from a wide range. I’ve been really pleased with not just his performance but the teams over the last couple of weeks. However, I still think there’s more to come from us but we won’t get carried away with it and we’ll prepare well for Saturday”.
"We’ve just got to keep turning these performances in on a regular basis. We know it’s tough in this league with the amount of travelling we do but I’m really pleased and proud of the boys today”.
