Merthyr Town Football Club is delighted to announce the re-signing of forward, Ian Traylor.
Traylor, 31, joined Cymru Premier side Penybont FC last summer after featuring for the Martyrs for just over a decade.
Signed by both Danny Carter and Garry Sheppard from Cwmaman in 2011, Traylor has been one of the club’s most prolific strikers in history, netting almost 200 goals in over 400 appearances for the club.
Known for his pace and outrageous finishing, he returns to the club ahead of the 2021/22 Southern League Premier South season.
Whilst being one of the biggest appearance makers for the club, he has won the Western football League title, Southern league Division One South title, along with supporters' player of the year a record four times.
After putting pen-to-paper at The Met Coaches Community Stadium, Traylor said: “I'm delighted to re-join the football club. After some good chats with the gaffa, I'm just looking forward to enjoying my football again and playing in front of the great fans. "
Manager Dean Clarke added: “I’m absolutely delighted to get Traylor’s signature over the line. He has been a huge part of the club’s success over the years an is a great character to have around the club. He will be a great addition to our squad this season and I can't wait to re-work with him and the rest of the squad going forward."
