Although the FA still need to sanction the decision taken by the Step 3-6 semi-professional
leagues, we now know that the current season 2019/20 has ended and been declared null
In unprecedented circumstances and at this very difficult time, our thoughts are with our
supporters, players, staff, volunteers, sponsors, the local and wider community and all of
their immediate families. We advise everyone to take care plus listen, respect and
implement the advice from the Government and NHS.
In the interests of everyone’s health and safety and to observe the Government guidance,
the Met Coaches Community Stadium has been closed until further notice.
The impact on our business has been huge and our responsibility is now to ensure that we
deal with the uncertain economic environment we face and to ensure the very existence
and future of your football club.
We are especially grateful to one of our creditors and a loyal long-term supporter who has
agreed to suspend loan repayments which will help with our cash-flow. Another sponsor
has also recently paid money that he owed to the Club, which has been of significant help.
All of our income streams, apart from Soccalot, disappeared virtually overnight. But even
Soccalot sales have fallen dramatically due to individuals being unable to purchase tickets
personally from their local outlet, on the night of the draw and obviously on match days
which is why we have encouraged anyone to set up a Standing Order for £4.33 per month
to help support the Club through this barren period.
The club has lost the gate receipts from the remaining five home matches, the secondary
match day income, the club shop has closed, commercial income has been severely
affected, five wedding receptions due to be held at the Club will now inevitably be
postponed, catering for Sunday lunches has ended, the mini-soccer tournament, proposed
music festival, golf day and many other non football events have already been cancelled
and we will lose all income from hiring the 3G pitch. The Walking Football Euros due to be
held at the ground in July have been provisionally rescheduled to take place in October.
All the cost savings we have made in recent years, will help us to some extent, but not
enough to get through this complete collapse of our income streams.
Our mission statement is one of ‘Progress through Stability’ and as you are all aware to
run a fan owned, sustainable football club is very challenging. We can assure all of our
supporters that we are doing our very best to achieve this but we are now surviving from
day to day.
