This weekend the club holds its annual Mini Football Festival for the first time since 2019. The popular event will see hundreds of children from all over South Wales playing for 128 teams at Penydarren Park.

The tournament, which takes place over two days on Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd May, is once again generously sponsored by Wales & West Housing, through it's 'Making A Difference' fund, which works with its suppliers and contractors to give back to the local communities through supporting sports and community groups and local projects.

WWH Group Chief Executive Anne Hinchey said: “I am pleased that Wales & West Housing is able to support this popular event and provide all the young people taking part with a day to remember and a medal to take home.

“Merthyr Town Football Club does a great job of including all ages, genders and abilities in their activities and the Mini Football Festival is a good example. It gives so many young footballers across south Wales the chance to play tournaments in a semi-professional stadium.

“After the last few years, events like this are so important for the physical and mental health of the young people and their families taking part. I hope everyone taking part has fun and enjoys the experience.”
