Merthyr Town Football Club is excited to confirm the signing of left-back James Parry from Goytre United.

The 26-year-old arrives from the Glenhaford Stadium and is looking to relish a new challenge within the English pyramid.

Caerphilly born, Parry, began his career at Newport County AFC before going on to make over 100 Welsh League appearances, including spells at Port Talbot Town, Goytre FC (Gwent), Afan Lido, Llanelli and Goytre United.

This season, the full-back has chalked up 17 appearances for Mark Pike’s side, seeing him be an integral part of the Blues backline.

Speaking upon his second signing of the January transfer window, manager Dean Clarke said: “I’m delighted to get this deal done.

“It’s been a long time in the making getting his signature over the line after competition with a lot of top Welsh Premier League clubs, but I’m thrilled to have him at the club.

“To sign a player of his pedigree and quality in the January window is a great addition to our squad and his arrival excites me and everyone associated with Merthyr Town Football Club. “

We can confirm that James will be available for selection ahead of tomorrow's trip to Hartley Wintney.
