The process of nominations for the Board of Merthyr Town FC Society was completed last Friday 8 Feb 2019. We have received five nominations. They are –
Jonathon Rhys Davies – who has served on the Board for the past year
David Powell and Huw Gingell – both of whom have been sitting on the interim Board following the resignations of several Board members on 20 December 2018.
Wayne Hodgkins – who has been associated with Merthyr Town for many years. Wayne has been tremendously supportive to the club over the last few months, overseeing the bar activities and a very successful series of social events.
Colin Bodenham – long time active Society member and a former Board member, who has recently moved on from his role of Ground Manager at the club for the last 5 years.
Our constitution requires us to have a minimum of 7 Board members. We will seek to co-opt a further two members and failing that seek to bring the matter before the membership.
The Society’s accounts are in preparation at our accountants. As soon as we are clear as to a completion date, we will arrange the AGM.
Although there has been a limited response to the invitation for nominations, we do have valuable support from volunteers at the club. We would always welcome extra help, so if you are willing to offer the club your services please let me know.
I would like to thank all our staff, on and off the pitch, and our many volunteers for their help, particularly during the last two months while the interim Board has been in place. We have made great progress in a short space of time with everyone coming together for the good of the club.
Up The Town!!!
