It’s now been eight months without any ‘live’ football on a Saturday afternoon at the Met Coaches Community Stadium and I’m sure that everyone is jaded by the thought that we will have to wait another eight months before we can watch the Martyrs in action once again. But we all need to stay positive and follow the rules, as we approach the Christmas period.
Don’t forget that the Annual General Meeting of the Club will be held at 11.30am on Saturday 28th November. Due to the current restrictions around physical meetings taking place, the meeting will be held remotely online.
Another reminder that nominations to stand for election to the Board close on Friday 27th November. Members interested in standing need to return their completed nomination forms to the Election Management Group as soon as possible. There are currently three serving elected Directors, while two Co-opted Board members will step down.
If we receive more nominations than vacancies an election will be required and ballot papers will be sent out as soon as possible, after the closing date for nominations has passed.
Members standing for the Board need to:
- Be keen to work in partnership as part of a committed team;
- Be willing to devote the time & energy required to this role;
- Have good communication and listening skills;
- Have sound judgement and integrity, and be prepared to fully comply with our governance standards.
We would also ask members to consider supporting the board in any way that would help to benefit the club.
On Thursday the Club's facilities will be used to help train the personnel involved in the mass testing of the population of Merthyr Tydfil. We would encourage all of our supporters to be tested in order to support this essential programme in the fight against the pandemic.
It looks as though we are in for another busy week!
