Big Weekend ahead
13 Jul 2018, Friday

A busy weekend is in store at Merthyr Town FC with a variety events on show at the Club for you all to enjoy..

Firstly tonight in Romans we host an evening with Liverpool Legend & 3 time European Cup winner Jimmy Case, followed by a Comedian and Chicken & Chips, we still have a few tickets available for this event so if you wish to book your seat please contact Wayne Hodgkins on 07852 769467 or Richard Bennett on 07852 950486, doors open at 6pm for this one.

On Saturday afternoon we welcome fellow supporter owned club City of Liverpool FC to Penydarren Park where we will compete for the Supporters Direct Shield (kick off 3pm). It's a fixture we are very much looking forward to hosting with the "Purps" bringing a strong contingent of travelling supporters to South Wales, we hope everyone associated with club enjoy their time with us, we would also like to extend our welcome to members & delegates of Supporters Direct and thank them for once again choosing us to host this match.

On Saturday we also welcome @180degreesfilm who will be filming throughout the day as they are currently working on a documentary surrounding Supporter ownership & the non league game to include both ourselves and City of Liverpool FC amongst other clubs, a trailer of the documentary will be shown on the big screen in Romans just after 2pm to give you a taste of what's to come so be sure to catch that, and please feel free to say hello to the cameras as you settle in for the afternoons entertainment as both sides continue their pre season campaigns.

On Sunday the MTFC World Cup Final Fanzone will be showing the World Cup Final live on our big screen in Romans, as France take on Croatia for the ultimate prize in World Football.  The Fanzone will open in Romans from 2.30pm, following the MTFC over 30s v MTFC under 30s Supporters match on pitch which will kick off around 12.30pm, there will also be a World Cup Final Quiz thrown in for good measure before the Final kicks off at 4pm.

During and following the Final the children of those attending the Fanzone will be allowed to use the pitch with their friends to re-create their own World Cup Final memories on our specially laid out small sided pitches (providing the correct footwear is worn of course) so don't forget to bring a ball and enjoy a good natured kick around on us..

We look forward to welcoming you all over the weekend.
